FIRST Things First

Ahhh, another year of school began today.

Our little lady made her way - with great excitement -

into the FIRST grade!

How is that even possible?

She was more than ready to be reunited with her friends from last year... and enter the world of the "big kids" (new classroom, big playground, different schedule, etc.).

In anticipation of her return to school, she drew this picture

(which she asked me to copy and put on the entrance to the school - that's my "go-getter girl"!).

(Instead, we made a copy and gave it to her wonderful kindergarten teacher from last year.)

So, here we go again!

Summer vacation is behind us, and the excitement of a new year of school is ahead. Abbby is heading right into this new adventure - and is not looking back...

(even while Mom takes her picture!).

A Fresh Start

As you can see, it's been a LONG time since I have done any posting on our blog. But, with the loving encouragement of a dear friend, I have resolved to, once again, jump back into the world of blogging.

Leaving Our Mark

Last Sunday, August 24th, we had the amazing opportunity to be a part of history in the building process of our new church facility. We joined the rest of our congregation to write scripture verses and sign our names on the concrete foundation of the new church building. It was an incredible experience and am awesome opportunity to forever leave our "mark" on the foundation our church.

The "little ones" were encouraged to trace their handprints on the concrete
and write their names (instead of writing out entire verses of scripture).

We are so excited for the new facility to be ready (next Spring). What a wonderful addition to our community. We are blessed to be a part of the church as it enters a new season of ministry!

Back to School

Abby started Kindergarten on Monday, August 18th! What an exciting adventure it has been! She is attending a charter school located right behind our new hosue. Once we get moved in (October, probably), we will be able to walk to and from school (which Abby has decided is MUCH more exciting than the thought of riding the bus - which still ranks higher than riding in the car with Mommy!).
